Make cleaning ash from commercial biomass boilers easier with the Big Brute Biomass Interceptor system. This setup pairs your existing Big Brute and your own non-combustible metal drum with a heat-resistant metal hose, heat resistant up to 400°C, and a Big Brute Cyclone Interceptor Lid.
The metal hose withstands hotspots in the ash, should it not have cooled completely. The Cyclone Interceptor Lid reduces ash, fine dust and hot embers from being carried over into the Big Brute. This protects both the suction hose and the vacuum itself. Thermal cut-outs on each motor provide an additional layer of safety.
Perfect for commercial biomass systems, this system minimises mess and reduces risks from hot ash and embers.
The package includes a Big Brute Cyclone Interceptor Lid, a heat-resistant metal suction hose in a choice of lengths, and optional extras like a scraper tool for stubborn ash. All you need is your own Big Brute and your own metal collection drum to get started.

Our specialised metal suction hose connects up to the inlet port on the Interceptor Lid. Attach an optional V37 Scraper Tool to clean ash from the biomass boiler.
The heat-resistant metal hose is capable of withstanding temperatures up to 400°C in case you encounter stubborn “hot spots” while cleaning up the ash.
Note we recommend sucking up ash that has completely cooled and has been raked over thoroughly to avoid such hot spots as the metal hose can still suffer damage if hot material get stuck in the hose for a prolonged period.
The Standard Cyclone Interceptor is designed to fit our standard Big Brute drums. We can't guarantee they fit other drums.
If in doubt as to the origin of your collecting drum, we recommend going for the Fit All Cyclone Interceptor option.
The Fit All Cyclone Interceptor will fit most drums with outside diameter between 320 to 680mm.
The link hose is a shorter section of our Standard Big Brute Dry Suction Hose. It connects the outlet port of the Cyclone Interceptor to the suction port of your Big Brute.
It has bend steel ends and push-on-pull-off rubber hose couplers.
Available in 3m or 5m lengths.
The V37 Scraper Tool is our famous 1m long, aluminium Big Brute cleaning tool that's ideal for poking and scraping to dislodge dirt.

The Scraper Tool Handle avoids the need to hold the metal Scraper Tool or hose with your hands while sucking up ash.

Use your existing Big Brute with our recommended setup to suck up ash into a non-combustible drum. The metal suction hose (heat resistant up to 400°C) will withstand heat if you find a “hot spot”.
The Cyclone Interceptor Lid captures dust and drops it into the drum – this reduces the amount of dust carried over into the Big Brute. This also reduces the risk of hot embers being carried over to the Big Brute. This better protects the standard standard suction hose linking your Cyclone Interceptor to the Big Brute, and the Big Brute itself, from hot ash and embers.
Further, thermal cut-outs built into each Big Brute motor cut the power to the Big Brute if hot ash or warm air is sucked up for a prolonged period. This allows the machine to cool down while you investigate.

Never use an industrial ash vacuum system to clean up hot ash and embers. We always recommend leaving the ash to cool completely before handling it. Thoroughly rake it over several times to ensure that the ash is cooled completely and thoroughly before removing it from your biomass boiler.
