Use your existing Big Brute to recover free-flowing, heavy blast media. Move it with your pallet truck or your forklift. Raise it over your skips with your forklift and empty it through the flap in the base. Supplied with either a 2m or a 3m length suction hose. Optional toolkit also available which includes a stainless steel crank, two straight tubes and a floor brush.

Tine Size

The Shot Interceptor is designed to accept the tines of most forklifts and pallet trucks.

Just measure:

The centre-to-centre distance between your tines (A)
The width of your tines (B)
The height of your tines (C)

and check they will fit into the Shot Interceptor.

Product Description

If you’ve ever tried to recover shot blast, or other blast media, with a normal vacuum cleaner, you’ll know just what a pain it is. It’s incredibly heavy and just settles out in the hose.

The Big Brute Shot Interceptor is a system that maximise suction performance to help recover heavy blast media.

Use your existing Big Brute (such as the Big Brute Popular) to suck up blast media into the Big Brute Shot Interceptor.

When full, move it with your pallet truck or your forklift using the tine slots on its base.

Use your forklift to raise it over your discharge point – it empties quickly and completely through the discharge flap in the base.

Holds up to 300kg of blast media.

WHAT’S IT BEST FOR?

All dry, free-flowing blast media.

Recovering residual amounts of shot, such as spillages or excess.

Ideal for recovering shot before changing grades.

WHAT SHOULD IT NOT BE USED FOR?

Not suitable for blast media that’s oily, sticky, or that clumps.

Recovering huge quantities of blast media.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUPPLY YOURSELF?

The Big Brute Shot Interceptor does not contain its own power unit. It relies on your own existing Big Brute to provide the suction. Ensure you already have:

Dry or Wet & Dry Big Brute model (such as the Big Brute Popular, Big Brute Warehouseman or Big Brute Wet & Dry)
Extra Large Filter
Link hose to connect your Big Brute to the Big Brute Shot Interceptor (we recommend a short hose of length no more than 3m, such as the V33 3m Dry Suction Hose or the V53 3m Wet Suction Hose)

IMPORTANT NOTES

Sucking up heavy blast media has its own problems. When operated with the supplied hose options and powered by a standard Big Brute, as described above, the Big Brute Shot Interceptor will successfully suck up blast media, but under strict conditions:

Ensure the entry spigot of the Shot Interceptor is no more than 800mm (31.5″) above the ground (don’t prop the Shot Interceptor up or raise it above the ground with a forklift while in operation) and;
Ensure the maximum vertical distance blast media is being sucked up is no more than 1500mm (59″).

Operating the Big Brute Shot Interceptor outside these parameters will result in poor performance.
