BHP Nickel West utilising Big Brute Industrial Vacuum Cleaners

Posted 21st February 2020 by James Williams

BHP Nickel West have recently acquired Big Brute Industrial Vacuum Cleaners for the recovery of spilt nickel powders and briquettes as part of their refinery process.

The Big Brute Cone Base Suck & Dump Industrial Vacuum Cleaner model was chosen due to the ability for safe emptying with a forklift. The Big Brute Suck & Dump model has been designed for the recovery of large quantities of powders/material and emptying directly into skip bins, containers or bulka bags.

By utilising the inbuilt forklift tine slots, any heavy lifting is eliminated by raising with a forklift directly over your emptying point. With a conical base and 200mm bottom trap door, all material will empty completely each time.

The 710mm Wide Warehouseman Front Floor Brush and Floor, Wall & Ceiling Toolkit accessories were also used with their Big Brute Industrial Vacuum Cleaner to clean large concrete floors even quicker and those hard to reach places around equipment in their refinery.

After purchasing the first Big Brute Industrial Vacuum Cleaner, they acquired another unit for the same application in another area of the plant shortly after.

Big Brute Industrial Vacuum Cleaners have been used throughout the Australian mining industry for over 20 years and are used in other nickel refineries in Australia including Minara Resources’ Murrin Murrin Nickel mine in Western Australia.
